yesterday, when i online, Alvin showed me to this website where a Fuhua Secondary School pupil complained to STOMP and had it posted online, and of course, on newspaper.

"Give offenders a chance!"

A Fuhua Secondary School student is very unhappy about her school grooming exercise, and how students are affected by what they see is an act of humiliation.

“I am upset that recently during morning assembly the school checked the girls, and I thought offenders would be giving a warning, and get a chance to get their hair cut after school. However it was not so.

The offenders were sent to the principal’s office and their fringes were cut short. These students came out crying as they looked ugly.

I think this was a public act of humiliation. Everyone wants to look good but with this hairstyle, if you were them you won’t step out of the house to face other people. And these students will care more about how their hair looks now and not concentrate on their studies. I think the principal just made things worse.

My friend’s two friends cried for almost two hours and couldn’t even concentrate in class and in their CCA.

What’s the point of making us feel so humiliated we can’t concentrate on our studies? I thought education should come first. Furthermore, the principal should at least give the offenders a chance before doing this; the students can pin up or cut their hair themselves. I feel that the principal is in the wrong to just cut away the students’ hair like that without caring about how they feel and never even give them chances to go cut their hair after school or to pin them up.

Also, the principal scolds students who wear jackets in school when it's cold. They feel we wear the jacket as a fashion statement and said that it's not part of the school’s attire and we shouldn’t be wearing them even if it’s cold or windy. We’re told to report to the office if we are really sick and they will call our parents, and then allow us to wear our jackets. But there isn’t a jacket designed for us to wear. Should we all go sew the school logo on our jackets before we are allowed to wear them?

The principal actually wants students who wear coloured bras to remove them and get their parents to bring white bras for them to change into, but what happens if both parents are working? Should the girl go walking around the school without a bra? Worse, this is a co-ed school and it’s humiliation to the girls. The principal doesn’t care about how we really feel.

Toilet lights are also switched off to save electricity bills and we can hardly see in the afternoons. It is almost pitch-black on rainy days. The only time when the toilet lights are switched on again is when important guests visit, which I think is really unfair to us students. The school would rather spend money building a statue and it look nothing more that a man with two thumbs up and place it among some bushes. I think it’s a waste of money and the school actually saves money from electricity bills to build that statue which is of no use at all. They should rather go spend the money helping poor and needy students.

I really hope the school will concentrate more on our education than on grooming and making us feel so humiliated.”

and guess what?
the VP replied:

Fuhua Sec: 'Grace period always given'

"Grace period and extensions are always given," responded Mr Phor Hoay Guan, Vice Principal, Fuhua Secondary School after STOMP contacted the school following a student's email to us.

Mr Phor explained that students who "fall short of expectations" are monitored by teachers to ensure they do comply with rules.

This is the email Fuhua Secondary sent to STOMP.

"In Fuhua Secondary, discipline and pastoral care form the foundation for our approach towards a holistic education for our pupils. The school nurtures and encourages each pupil to develop a sense of discipline. One component of discipline is the observance of school rules.

"The students who "fall short of expectations", are monitored and advised by teachers.Should they fail to comply with rules they are warned, and sterner disciplinary action taken against the offenders.

The school also explains the reason for switching off toilet lights, that these "are efforts towards energy-saving", and that this message was conveyed to staff and students when the practice was implemented in 2005.

The lights, the school clarifies, are switched on during rainy days or when the sky is dark.

You might wanna link to the website and see people's comments/reviews/reply. guranteed interesting.

oh ya, i find the part about the bra thing is funny, where you'd go around the school bra-less. Craps. getting a fuhua logo sewn on the jacket is just plain stupid, yet carries a little humour, that's what i think. The most funny thing is the part where the person said that the school is spending $$ on a 10K statue that's pointing 2 thumbs and put among the bushes! LMAO. that's the most funny part, and i kept laughing! ya`noe, maybe some people DON'T EVEN KNOW there's this statue in the 1st place! speaking of the statue, even if it does have some purpose or moral of our school or whatsoever, does it cost more when students fell in the dark toilets or pee-ing outside the toilet bowl since they can't see in the dark where the toilet bowl is? i bet it doesn't. if the student fall, it'll be the school's fault that it didn't on the lights, let alone the student's own fault that he/she fell down! who's fault now leh? -.-'' medical fees cost a bomb.

alright, i shall get a little serious. hmm...

this is like total bullshit. First, VP didn't answered to the bra and jacket question. Second, he claimed that the school will on the lights on dark and stormy weathers. SINCE WHEN? there were even times when the sky was dark, and the toilet door was closed. you can't even see where's the sink. And at this point, DID HE ON THE LIGHTS? i suppose this doesn't only occur in the girl's toilet lah. Use your brain, even my primary school is using the sensor thingy, which senses if people are inside the toilet, and thus on-ing and off-ing the lights when appropriate. Maybe you can install auto flush of the toilet bowl too. haha. Thirdly, people write in so long, he only replied so less. He thinks that the jacket and bra thingy aren't important. Come`on, if you are making up and having these stupid excuses and decipline thingy and not letting us give reasons or rather explain, you're gonna make the whole school hate FuHua (or shld i say the P and VP?) Even the jacket and bra issues concerned the pupils in the school. And you didn't even THINK how to give us an explainations, and totally ignored what's over there. wtf is this? everything is so unreasonable.

In this 4 points:
-Cutting of hair by P herself
-Wearing coloured bra
-Wearing jackets
-Saving electricity and money by not on-ing toilet lights,
i can give one god-damn FULL POST on my reviews. but too bad i don't have the time to. and of course, i can give positive and negative things on it, and also standing on or supporting which team.

and look, our school is going famous. going famous in a weird way i suppose? WOW. who wants a glimpse inside our school? who wants to come inside and see how we are suffering?? Gosh. i'm hating the P and VP. Both are irresponsible people and always try to find things to stop our compains and so on.

Which school doesn't have rebellious kids? Which school's students doesn't cause troubles?
Just that we did wrong things, have the wrong thinking, going against the school rules ( or rather something that's NOT EVEN A SCHOOL RULE ), or whatsoever, doesn't mean you can treat us like a piece of shit, or some pathetic animal hearing your orders. If the school doesn't have any trouble-maker kids, then fine, count yourself lucky. But too bad FuHua does have. And you making up all these nonsense, are making them even more rebellious and grouchy, so you can't blame them for calling you names, for cursing and swearing at you AND you can't punish them. It's God's creation of humans and it's the human's way of thinking, that you can't change. If this person's character is not good, then your doings are making it go worse, although there are times where this person MAY change. But both chances stand on a 50-50, so it's tough to know if your doings are right or wrong. Well, i guess you chosed the wrong path of provoking us. you think you can change us? fat hope.

Whatever thing you did, from this year, is making almost all the students going mad. woohoo, let's see what we all can do if things doesn't get better. a good show is starting.

A GOOD SHOW IS GOING TO START, or rather, I HOPE A GOOD SHOW WILL START ;)

the world will turn WILD.
